Roerich-Christmas-Star

What is the Star of Wonder?

Pope-Benedict-Epiphany-QuoteToday is the Feast of Epiphany and we learn that the Three Kings or Magi followed a star to Christ’s birthplace. Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI gave a beautiful homily on this Solemnity in 2011. Take a few moments today to read it and ponder over his words.

At the end of his remarks, our Holy Father makes us think about our role in being “stars for other, reflection of that light that Christ made to shine over us.”  As we begin a new year, let’s strive to find ways that we can be a guiding light for others. We don’t have to look for extravagant actions; instead we can do a  simple act like smiling at a stranger. Undoubtedly, you can find other simple ways to lead others to Christ.

Our way will always be illumined by a light that no other sign can give us. And we too will be able to become stars for others, reflection of that light that Christ made to shine over us. Amen. ~Pope Benedict XVI
