On All Souls’ Day we remember the faithful departed and apply our efforts through prayer, almsgiving and Holy Mass to release their souls from Purgatory. Let us take a few minutes and remember our loved ones on November 2nd. Let us humbly ask God to accept our prayers and deeds so that they may stand before the Beatific Vision. If you have no one to pray for, then make a general offering for a forgotten soul — one only known to God and His angels.
This video is the beautiful movement titled In Paradisum from Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem. The words are:
May angels lead you into paradise; upon your arrival, may the martyrs receive you and lead you to the holy city of Jerusalem.
May the ranks of angels receive you, and with Lazarus, the poor man, may you have eternal rest.
