Happy Fifth Day of Christmas 2014. The following beautiful prayer was said at Mass today — the Fifth Day within the Octave of the Nativity of the Lord. Our hearts are filled with joy and thanksgiving as we celebrate the Birth of Our Lord and Savior. His birth dispelled the darkness and He became the Light of the World.
Almighty and invisible God, who dispersed the darkness of this world by the coming of your light, look, we pray, with serene countenance upon us, that we may acclaim with fitting praise the greatness of the nativity of your only Begotten son. Who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the holy spirit, one God, for ever and ever. ~ Collect, Mass of the Fifth Day Within the Octave of the Nativity of the Lord.
