In September, a new biography about Pope Benedict XVI will be published. The book, Mein Bruder, der Papst (My Brother, the Pope), is based on an interview with Monsignor Georg Ratzinger given to historian Michael Hesemann. I imagine we will find lots of credibility and little speculation. The book promises to give us firsthand insight into His Holiness’ unplanned (and at times reluctant) path to the Seat of Peter. Unfortunately (but understandably), it will first be published in German. I, certainly, will be anxiously awaiting the English translation. Read this ZENIT article for more details.
