The glory of God

I really relish seeing light peeping through clouds. When I see such a sight, I think of the radiance of God’s face. I imagine God asking His angels to part the clouds so His earthly creatures can view a bit of Heaven shining through the rays of light beaming from His glory.

In today’s reading (Sixth Sunday of Easter) at Holy Mass, we listened to these words from the Book of Revelation:

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he angel took me in spirit to a great, high mountain
and showed me the holy city Jerusalem
coming down out of heaven from God.
It gleamed with the splendor of God. Rev. 21:2

After reading and listening to these words, my thoughts quickly went to the images of light between clouds. Oh, I can hardly wait to see such an image again so my heart can be transported to God’s holy words about the Heavenly Jerusalem. I will say a quick pray that He give us all the grace to live righteous lives so we can be admitted into the Heavenly Jerusalem and be reunited with our Creator, God Almighty.
